As I have documented many times on this blog, I am on an unceasing crusade to find good, non-toxic cleaning products that don't suck, and won't slowly poison me. Or quickly poison me, for that matter. So when I discovered the line of Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day cleaning products, it was as if a light shined down from the sky and a choir of angels heralded them. These cleansers are made from simple, clean, earth-friendly ingredients, smell heavenly, and actually work. And even the packaging is cute! I love these products so much, in fact, I wrote the manufacturers a fan letter - only the second one I have ever written in my life (fun fact: The first went to Ann M. Martin, the author of the Baby-Sitters Club books circa 1989). Unlike Ms. Martin, Mrs. Meyer didn't write back and send me stickers and an autograph for my "Autograph Book", but I like their products enough to forgive them that. I know this post reads like an ad, but Mrs. Meyer's is in no way paying or compensating me for this (yet- I'm still hoping for that autograph)- I'm just creepily obsessed with them.
In fact, I like their products so much that I want you to discover them, too. Hence: a giveaway! Just leave a comment on this post by midnight on Monday night (May 31), telling me your least favorite household chore (mine: matching socks) and I will randomly select two winners!
The First Prize will be a bounty/bevy/smorgasbord of Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products in your choice of scent (choose from Lemon Verbena, Lavender or Geranium- my fave), including the dish soap, hand soap, counter top spray- which I use every day- and whatever else I decide to pick out for you depending on how nice I'm feeling that day.
The Second Prize will be a bottle of the Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day All-Purpose Cleaner (which may leave you wondering why any of the other products are necessary) in your choice of scent.
So leave a comment and you just might... clean up.

I hate cleaning the bathtub! (but I also loved the babysitter's club!)
I love Mrs. Meyers & hate scrubbing the shower doors. I'm currently obsessed with the new basil scent- YUM.
I hate, though in different ways:
- doing laundry in the apartment laundry room (can't wait to have my own machine!)
- cleaning out the sink/tub drain
Emptying the dishwasher is my least favorite chore!
I used to dislike vacuuming, but then we got the most wonderful vacuum and now I don't mind! But, that means that folding laundry has taken top spot as least favorite chore. That must be why there's still laundry in the dryer from the weekend. Oops. : )
I hate cleaning the toilet, and the icky stuff in the tub drain. What is that stuff anyway???
I hate to sweep the house's hardwood floors prior to mopping. Another dreaded chore is wiping off the bathroom counter top over which my dad stands to use his hairspray ever morning. It leaves this semi-permanent layer of gunk!
I also hate mating socks! In fact, I fold all the other laundry and make my boyfriend mate the socks as his share of the work :)
I think I hate scrubbing the stove worse, though.
I hate cleaning the bathtub :(
Emptying the Diaper Champ is my least favorite chore. It would definitely benefit from a lovely new scented cleaner!
I have a tie between taking out the trash and cleaning out the cat's litter. yick!
Cleaning the dust out of our old school radiator.
I hate sweeping and mopping--the mess always seems to reappear so soon!
Least favorite: cleaning toilets!
ps. mrs. meyers rocks!
taking out the trash is by far my least favorite!
least favorite chore...all of them? i detest cleaning, but i guess the worst is cleaning out the fridge. i make the bf clean out old leftover containers...it makes me gag!
love the blog!
I super really hate vacuuming. Ugh! But I super really love your blog ; )
The worst chore in my book is wrangling with all the attachments and cords to vaccum the steps. (I usually end up just raking my fingers through the carpet fibers in the corners of each step to pull out the collected poufs of dog hair - ugh!)
i hate cleaning the stove. It never gets fully clean!!

Vacuuming is the worst! Especially because we have a two part machine and I have to drag the canister around behind me like a tail!
scrubbing the bathtub for sure!
I don't mind doing the laundry, or even folding it. But i really hate putting it away.
It stays folded up in the laundry basket until I need it (which usually results in 1 big mess after I dig out the one item I need)
one of these days I'll learn :)
I love ms.meyers too!!!
My least favorite chore is brushing the dog after his bath! (he hates it too)
It usually involves chasing him around the house with a brush, only to corner him and wrestle him until I can get all the knots out! geeeezzz
My least favorite chore is definetly cleaning lampshades!
My least favorite task is cleaning the bathtub - I usually end up getting more water on the floor than in the tub!
Dishes. We don't have a dishwasher and it seems like there are always dishes to do.
Hand washing our cheese grater is AWFUL! I think I'm doing something good by blasting it with hot water but then realize that I've only made things worse for myself by melting any leftover cheese that might be hanging around. It's sticky and gooey and gets smeared everywhere. I am always so happy when it is finally clean and put away! Pre-shredded can be a little powdery and weird but it is still my friend. :)
I'll match your socks if you clean the tiled shower :)
I've seen this product in the store, but haven't tried yet. I am curious after reading your post!
I hate dusting...it's the chore that never ends.
I've been eyeing Mrs. Meyer's stuff, but haven't taken the leap yet. Help me see the light--pick me!
Washing the floor - it used to be a favorite, but since my one and a half year old drops so much from her highchair, the results only last until the next meal. I'd love to try Mrs. Meyers!
I hate scrubbing off the baked/burned on pie drippings in the oven. I know I should put a cookie sheet under the pie pan, but I always forget until I smell something burning! Plus, it would be nice if they made oven cleaner that didn't take years off your life.
I have always wanted to try these!
For sure without a doubt my least favorite chore is forcing myself to sit down and pay the bills each month. I feel like there are so many other things I should be doing like using my new Mrs. Meyers cleaning supplies that I will hopefully win!!!!!!!!!!! So kind of you to even offer ;)
The absolute worst household chore is cleaning the shower because it is the most work! The soap scum needs lots of elbow grease, which you have to apply at weird back-breaking/ineffective angles. Rinsing off all the toxic cleaner is near impossible due to the shower head's limited range of motion AND to top it all off, there is poor ventilation so the chemicals make you feel like you might just pass out (not to mention the emotional strain from the idea that you are giving yourself cancer and brain damage during this whole process). It is almost enough to make you endure the dirty, brown soap scum under your toes every morning. The problem comes when you want to take a bath, so you give in and labor away in the promise of the zen-like spa experience to come.
When it is time to clean the tube/shower, I put on my old bleach stained t-shirt and booty shorts, rain boots and kitchen gloves. I stand in the tub and go to town. A bucket works great to rinse the hard to reach spots. In the end I am soaked and tired, but the shower looks great! Then in the bubble bath I dream of getting rich with robotic shower cleaning inventions.
btw
I find matching socks pleasantly calming...

Cleaning out the shower drain! So much hair down there, you'd think that i'd be bald!
To pick only one! I'll go with laundry and all it's stages.
I despise vacuuming!
I've been wanting to try their cleaners for ages, but I don't know anyone who has used them to endorse them, so I keep putting it off.
Vacuuming. Oh, and vacuuming. I could make several puppies with all of the black lab hair I vacuum up every time.
I hate cleaning the kitchen sink with all the gross food particles sitting in the drain. YUCK!
I hate scrubbing the mold off my (in-tub) bath mat - impossible to get everything!
I hate cleaning the kitchen floor. Seriously. But I loved/still love the Baby-Sitters Club.
I hate dusting and I've always wondered about Mrs. Meyers products; thanks for the insight.
i hate hanging up clothes and putting laundry away. there is a constant and never ending pile of clothes on the dresser in the bedroom...
I hate cleaning off the cleaning products after cleaning.
Emptying the dishwasher, specifically the silverware!
Least favorite chore...putting away dishes or clothes!
Or perhaps my least favorite is cleaning the floors by hand. BLECH!
I used to not mind matching socks, but my boyfriend has taken to wearing mis-matched socks-alas I can never find the matches since they never go through the wash at the same time!
AND I really detest cleaning the tub...mostly because I don't have any non-toxic cleaning products and I am afraid to get any of it on my skin!
My least favorite chore is mopping the kitchen floor. Would love to try these great products!
i want i want i want i want!!!
my least favorite household chore is scrubbing the baseboards, because no matter how much i mop or dust, hands and knees and a rag are the ONLY way to get them clean. blerg.
Dusting, it takes forever!

My least favorite chore is prying significant other off the couch, away from the six to seven hours of TV he is down to, in order to smoothly fold huge sheets so we won't have to iron or even consider the purchase of a mangle. As for the dreaded dishes, geranium soap works really well to alleviate those pesky dish washing blues.

Polishing shoes , pressing trousers and dealing with smelly clothes come to mind. These and many other miseries from boarding school days,{scrubbing senior's Rugby kit ,repellent} would all have been done away with if one had had good connections with the former nomenklatura of the late unlamented, in most circles ,Soviet Union. One would have had the chance to become a very rich oligarch. And then one would have set up a scholarship with Rick Fink's Butler School,{ www.butler-valetschool.co.uk }.A modest proviso that graduates were expected to go into service for their academic benefactor for six months at a basic salary would have promoted widespread felicity. Heigh ho late spring reveries.
Hands down, the thing I hate most is cleaning the oven. Mine needs cleaning now and I would like to buy a new one instead of cleaning it.
least favorite would have to be anything involving cleaning the bathroom. is there anyway to throughly clean the shower without getting soaking wet?!?

ps... try safety pinning your socks together before the washer/dryer... you'll never be searching for lost sock mates again
Least favorite chore = washing the dishes... it never ends! Also a huge BSC fan! :) Love the blog!
Definitely ironing and/or laundry. Both time intensive!
Great giveaway! :)
I hate cleaning the baseboards.
